This morning I was thinking how I can change the default look of my Treo 680. I came across a program called Treo Launcher. Here is the outcome.
Changing icons is a simple process
- Find a suitable 48×48 size icon for each item in the category
- Convert it to GIF format, if it is of a different format
- Create a folder called ‘Icon’ under ‘DCIM’ folder in the memory card
- Copy all the icons into this folder
- Use ‘TreoLauncher’ and run ‘Icons’ from the menu

How do I create the folder under dcim?
One of the following methods.
1. connect phone to computer using the data cable
2. remove the SD card and insert it into a card slot in the computer or use a card reader
Either way, you should see it as a removable device. Then it is just a matter of creating the new folder using file manager/explorer.
